One way to honor Wyatt's life is to help other children and families struggling through cancer treatment. Wyatt received excellent care at Children's Hospital, but many of the services and experiences that made his time there bearable were the things that happened outside of the tests, treatments, exams, and medications. The Cancer Kids Fund helps to provide the money necessary to fund these indespensable "extras": nutritionists, psychologists, massage therapists, Child Life specialists, visits from the Minnesota Zoo or artists and musicians, toys and games. This fund also helps to provide interpreters, social workers, sibling play areas, and chaplains for families. It also provides money for parking and meal vouchers for parents--cost that add up quickly when you are living your life at the hospital for weeks or months at a time. Forrest will be running Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota as part of "Team Superstars" for Children's Minnesota. In order to be a part of the team, we have pledged to raise at least $750 for the Cancer Kids Fund. Any amount you give, even $10.00, will immediately benefit children and families in a very real and tangible way.
