I have committed to run the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon as part of Team Superstars to support Children’s Minnesota. Children's holds a special place in my heart for two reasons: I currently work here and have the pleasure of working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). I get to participate in families’ lives, often unexpectedly, and watch a tremendously dedicated and skilled group of medical providers strive for excellence in extraordinary circumstances each day.

I also was a former patient in my early years. I was transferred to Children’s for my first surgery to address my cleft lip and palate at 10 days old. This was my first of 10+ procedures to address my cleft. The care and support my family and I received was second to none and much of who I am today is due to my childhood experiences at Children’s.

I have set a fundraising goal of $1000, and donations will go to the PICUs on both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses. My hope is that with your help, we can raise funds to build upon the excellent care families receive in their times of need.
