But as each step reminds me, recovery is not a solo sprint. 

Christ has saved us, if we believe, & we are new, but we are not yet perfected-
Philippians 1:6 in the Bible reminds me of this:
“And I am certain, that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Jesus Christ returns.”

And so I am running a marathon because:
A. I want to :)
B. Because I have fears I want to face 
C. Because I want believe for myself what I tell my patients - they CAN 

I am raising money for the Mental Health program at Children’s Hospital because:
A. Mental illness is not a choice 
B. It’s time to lean into & highlight this epidemic that’s affecting every one of us
C. Pediatric Mental Health care in the Twin Cities needs our attention & Childrens Hospital is taking steps toward this. 

Why I’m asking YOU to partner with me:
A. Recovery is not a solo sprint  
B. Mental health CAN be managed 
C. Our young ones deserve it!

I’m running to raise $500 for this program because I have both experienced & witnessed first hand the absolute beauty that can emerge once mental illness is properly addressed AND the darkness that can overwhelm one without proper support.

Kids are amazing, they are one-of-a-kind and they deserve the best individualized treatment and care.

Nobody chooses mental illness; it’s a combination of physical, social, psychological factors that line up and can change the way a child typically learns, behaves, or handles their emotions, which can cause distress & problems getting through the day. And so I run , because I know there is hope, and that inside, we are ALL amazing.
