In October 2013, Betty was born when I was only 25 weeks pregnant. She weighed two pounds and was only thirteen inches long. She spent 100 days at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, where she grew bigger and stronger every day. She received outstanding care at Children's from its amazing doctors, nurses, and staff (and Ben and I did as well)!
Betty came home in January 2014, weighing eight pounds, six ounces, and measuring twenty inches long. She was breathing room air and eating on her own.
Now, almost five years have passed and Betty has continued to thrive. A true Minnesotan, she loves the winter and playing in the snow, climbing the monkey bars, and riding her scooter around the neighborhood. She tells hilarious stories, talks non-stop, and asks probing questions. She fills our lives with endless joy and laughter.
We are so thankful to everyone at Children's. Please help us celebrate Betty's milestone birthday by supporting Children's and allowing us to give back to the people and institution that gave Betty such an amazing start!
