Hi! As most of my friends and family know, I am extremely passionate about children. I am currently employed at the YMCA in Fargo, ND in childcare. I love hearing the stories the kids tell, the silly things they come up with, and just having an impact on their lives. Being a role model for kids puts a lot of weight on your shoulders, but I've decided to take it one step further.
On October 1st, 2017, I ran my first marathon. It was the Twin Cities Medtronic Marathon, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. It was life changing. Even though it was one of the hardest things I've ever done, I decided to do it again this year, but with a twist. I wanted to raise money for a charity. Deciding on a charity wasn't easy, but I decided to go with something I'm super passionate about, and that changes the lives of so many in my home state of Minnesota.
Growing up, I had heard a lot about the Children's Hospital. I lived in a small town of about 4,000 people, and I personally knew at least a handful of people that had to receive treatment here. Hearing their stories and how this hospital changed their lives is one of the many reasons why I chose to fundraise for the Children's Hospital.
I'm so excited for this journey and can't wait to run this marathon!
