I'm lacing up my shoes and running the Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 7. It's been four years since my last marathon and this time I want to run for a purpose. I joined Team Superstars to raise money for urgent needs to help support patients and families at Children's Minnesota. I'm running for kids so they receive the best care. I'm running so no child is turned away, regardless of ability to pay. I'm running so kids and their families have the best experience possible and get the support they need throughout their care journey at Children's. 

I knew right when I started working at Children's Minnesota ten years ago that it is a special place. I continue to be inspired by every amazing family story I hear, and by every child and family I meet. On the days when I sometimes get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, I am quickly humbled by the kids who light up our hospitals and clinics with their laughter, or their quiet strength and optimism, despite the challenges they face.
