Bike for Ezio

Raising money for a new bike for Ezio. Ezio is now 3 1/2 and ready to ride around with his brother and sister. This bike is made for his needs with Spina Bifida. He has been practicing on a bike just like this at therapy. He is so excited to have one of his own one day.

I’m thrilled to be participating in 53rd Telethon - 2027, a fundraiser supporting Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa! Variety helps children across Iowa gain mobility, independence, confidence, and opportunities through programs like adaptive bikes and mobility equipment, Variety Vans, inclusive playgrounds, support for children's nonprofits, and assistance for critically ill children and their families. Most importantly, it gives him greater independence and more opportunities to participate in everyday childhood moments. Pictured is 10-year-old Cooper, who recently received his new gait trainer from Variety's Mobility Program! During physical therapy, Cooper was able to use a gait trainer for short distances, and the progress he made was encouraging. Because of his medical history, staying active and mobile is especially important to help reduce the risk of future lung and heart complications. With his new gait trainer, Cooper now has the support he needs to improve coordination and balance, build strength, and continue working toward his goal of walking independently.
