Hey y'all! My name is Sanjna, and I am entering my fourth year at UT studying Mathematics and Human Dimensions of Organization with minors in Business and Informatics. Outside the classroom and off the bike, you can find me trying new foods, reading a book, and attempting to beat my mom in pickleball (unsuccessful thus far). Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, my story, and Texas 4000!
These days, you can go viral on social media for just about anything. When a close friend was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, they took to TikTok to share their hair regrowth journey following chemo. Love, curiosity, and encouragement poured in, motivating them to continue engaging in candid conversations of hope, science, and strength. Their authenticity testifies to the resilience and conviction I hope to embody within Texas 4000. In my final year of college, I want to place service and leadership at the forefront of my experience, riding to amplify the strength patients and their families display as they undertake their diagnoses, fund cancer research, and spread awareness along the way. Like my friend, I will dedicate myself to openness and honesty, showing up from wherever I am in my life to bring down a foe much larger than myself.
Just as she shared her story on social media, and I shared my story with you, it is a testament to the collective nature of this fight that each of us has a story. Cancer has touched everyone’s life in some way. If you’d like to share a memory, experience, or insight with me, I would be honored to carry all of our stories to Alaska (and beyond). Please feel free to reach out at any point to share these. My email is sanjnasanand@gmail.com.
One thing I’ve learned in college, especially studying math, is that there is a unique strength in numbers. For this reason, I’m asking you to join me in supporting my ride. If you would like to contribute financially, you can donate on this page. If you would prefer another platform, such as Venmo or Zelle, let me know and we can work it out!

Your support in this endeavor will not only inspire my ride but will directly impact those affected by cancer by reinforcing current and future cancer research and building stronger support networks for patients and their families.
To Alaska and Back,
Sanjna
