Run the Marine Corps Marathon for the Foley Foundation

Thank you for your interest in supporting the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation and for helping honor Jim Foley's life, moral courage, and legacy!  We are grateful to have dedicated individuals like you join us in raising awareness and critical funds that advance our mission to advocate for the freedom of all Americans held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad and promote jourlnaist safety. 

 

2026 Registration Information

In previous years, the Foundation was able to purchase race bibs directly for our runners. However, the Marine Corps Marathon now requires organizations to have at least 25 participants in order to secure bibs through a charity partnership. Because we do not meet that threshold, runners must register directly through the Marine Corps Marathon and then use our fundraising platform to support the Foundation.

 

What We Provide

Registration Reimbursement

The Foley Foundation will reimburse the cost of your Marine Corps Marathon registration bib. Simply send us your registration receipt, and we will take care of the reimbursement.

 

Fundraising Resources and Support

We provide fundraising guidance, sample messaging, and promotional materials to help you successfully reach your fundraising goals. 

Each runner will receive a personalized fundraising page through our Foley Foundation Marine Corps Marathon fundraising platform. Your page will connect directly to the Foundation, making it easy for friends, family, and supporters to donate in support of your efforts.

This is also an opportunity to share your story, your connection to Jim, and why you have chosen to run. By sharing your personal motivation, you can inspire others to support both your marathon journey and the Foundation's mission.

Whether you are setting up your fundraising page, sharing updates with your network, or looking for ideas to engage supporters, we are here to support you every step of the way.
