Over the past 5 years, my family and I have enjoyed going to a local event hosted by an F3 friend called Shmedfest. We would enjoy free food from K&W, ice cream from Dewey's, music from local bands, and fellowship with many of my F3 friends and their families. Amazingly, shmedfest started as a small birthday party years ago, and grew and grew til it became this impressive event aimed at raising money for Crisis Control Ministry. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the festival was cancelled this year... But Shmedfest was always More Than Just a Party, which got some guys thinking that we could still support the cause... and so, The Shmed was born.

The mission of Crisis Control Ministry is to assist people in crisis to meet essential life needs and to become self-sufficient. The impact of COVID-19 has been significantly detrimental to their annual fundraising. Most recently, the cancellation of the Fair meant they would be without the 70,000lbs of food (~$90K worth) they normally raise at the fair. They need our help, so that they can help others.

The Shmed will be a 24 hour F3 event, August 28-29th, with four F3 workouts over the timespan and other events in between. One of those events will be a 5000 rep challenge (1000 push-ups, sit-ups, squats, jumping jacks, and burpee's), which I have decided to attempt with the sole purpose of inspiring people to donate. If you know me, you know I enjoy a crazy workout; but this is not something that I would normally do... My hope is that by pushing my body to it's limits, you will consider letting me earn your donation! By making a pledge to donate a small amount per rep completed, you can make a big impact to Crisis Control Ministry. For example, a pledge of $.01 - $.20 per rep is $50 - 1000 total!! You can donate now as well, but the challenge will be live streamed (hopefully) and donations can be made through my page when my attempt is over.
