One moment, among many at BBBS, that reminds me why this work matters is when I made a match with a Little from an LQBTQ family with a Big from an LGBTQ family. Neither one had ever met another person from a family that looked like theirs. Connection involves understanding another person’s perspective, gaining new insights, sharing enthusiasm for common interests, and recognizing both your own value and the inherent worth of others.
