Meet Paul Pogue, McKinney's Top Model Contender!
Pogue Construction Company & Endowment Owner
I said yes because education changes the direction of a life – and when a life is changed, a family, a community, and a future can be changed with it.
McKinney has been home to our family, our business, and so much of our story. When Judy and I began Pogue Construction, we did not start with much, but we believed deeply in faith, hard work, opportunity, and serving others. Over the years, we have seen again and again that when young people are given encouragement, resources, and someone willing to believe in them, they can do remarkable things.
Investing in children and education has always been about creating opportunities for others to succeed. 35 years ago, alongside other community leaders who shared a passion for education, Judy and I helped establish the McKinney Education Foundation. Judy and I felt led to create its first endowment, reflecting our deep belief that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their God-given potential. The McKinney Education Foundation represents exactly that kind of belief—it stands in the gap for students and teachers, opening doors that might otherwise remain closed, and helping young people take the next step toward the future God has placed before them.
I did not say yes to being one of McKinney’s Top Models because I belong on the runway. I said yes, because the students of McKinney belong in classrooms, on campuses, in careers, and in futures filled with possibility.
If this opportunity helps raise even one more scholarship, encourage one more teacher, or give one more student the confidence to keep going, then saying yes was easy. I am honored to stand with the McKinney Education Foundation, and I invite others to join me in investing in the next generation.
