I am so honored to be paddling in The Friendship Paddle 2026, a fundraiser in support of my dear friend, Scott Miners. This organization is extremely close to my heart, because as you may know, they paddled for me last year. The community spirit behind this event changed my life forever, and I genuniely believe it's a big part of why I'm still here. Now, my friend Scott needs that same community and generosity that I was blessed with.

Scott was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2021. He's fought it hard ever since, but it has progressed to Stage 4. You can imagine the finanical toll after years of fighting, and he's still undergoing intense treatment. Even so, he faces it with resilience, strength, and even humor. Amidst the gnarliest fight, Scott finds ways to joke every day, always looking for the silliness in life, and always making the most of his time, never taking it for granted. 

Scott's motto is, "Today is the Gift". He has an appreciation for life we can all aspire to. Even facing his own battle, Scott made the time to stand by me and so many others when they need it. Between his own chemo appointments and everything else, the man still volunteers for meals on wheels, he goes out of his way to plant trees in public, and he is just an all around pillar of our community. Now is our turn to stand behind him when he needs it. It's time to show up for Scott and raise as much as we can for his family, they deserve it!
