The Friendship Paddle is a non-profit organization that takes place every year to provide emotional and financial support to a beneficiery with a life threatening illness. This year the Friendship Paddle family is paddling across the channel for Scott Miners. 

Scott is a husband, father, surfer, volunteer, and longtime Santa Barbara community member. In 2021, he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. After years of treatment, his cancer has progressed to Stage 4.

Even while facing his own diagnosis, Scott has continued to show up for others. He has volunteered with Meals on Wheels, built friendships through the Cancer Center community, and supported the Friendship Paddle family itself. Last year, while quietly fighting his own battle, Scott paddled, encouraged, and supported another honoree.

I have been surrounded by the Friendship Paddle community since 2003, when my Dad padddled for the first ever beneficiery. I have an incredible passion for this organization and its mission, and I feel that it is my duty to show up for Scott and his family during this incredibly difficult chapter. Your gift helps ease the burden of treatment, lost work, and the day-to-day weight that cancer places on a family.
