I have only known Scott for a couple months, but for me, it doesn't take years to recognize someone's character. At 21 years old, I'm still learning what it means to be a good man, and from the moment I met Scott, I knew he was one of those people who quietly sets that example. The way he carries himself and treats others has influenced people like me in ways he probably doesn't even realize.

I’m participating in The Friendship Paddle 2026 to support Scott Miners and his family.
Scott is a husband, father, surfer, volunteer, and longtime Santa Barbara community member. In 2021, he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. After years of treatment, his cancer has progressed to Stage 4.
Even while facing his own diagnosis, Scott has continued to show up for others. He has volunteered with Meals on Wheels, built friendships through the Cancer Center community, and supported the Friendship Paddle family itself. Last year, while quietly fighting his own battle, Scott paddled, encouraged, and supported another honoree.
Now it is our turn to show up for Scott.
Every donation helps surround Scott, Jenn, Kira, and Caleb with financial and emotional support during an incredibly difficult chapter. Your gift helps ease the burden of treatment, lost work, and the day-to-day weight that cancer places on a family.
