Hola!  This May 19-31st I will be leading my 5th UND Nursing ServiceTeam trip to Guatemala.  I cannot hardly believe this is the 5th trip already!  This years team consists of 6 UND nursing students, my niece, Tiana, and her roommate (who are also UND students), 1 UND nursing alumnus, and 2 friends of team members.  So with myself included, we are a team of 12.  I am so excited for all of them to experience Guatemala and fall in love with the people who have touched my heart is so many ways over the years!  Our 12-day trip will focus on serving the poor in a variety of ways, which includes volunteering at a malnutrition center, nursing home, and hospital for the disabled, serving supper at a homeless shelter, going on home visits to interact with and see where the project's children live, building a home for a family, and distributing food and clothing to the poor.  As a team, they will not only be giving so much to the poorest of the poor, but also gaining so much themselves.  They will learn and grow in every interaction and in a variety of ways.  I find that I myself continue to grow from each trip to Guatemala.
