I'm raising money for Daystar Counseling Ministries!

Hi friends!

It is October again and once again I have the honor of raising money for Daystar.

Daystar means so much to me, but not only because it is where I work.  It has been a light in my life since 2004 when I needed a place for my children to come talk through their feelings around my divorce.  As a single mom at that time, I was blessed by the financial assistance offered to me.  We call this our sliding scale.  And this sliding scale is the sole reason I reach out once a year to ask for your help in supporting this ministry.  100% of what we raise for the October Thing is to help those who need financial aid to bring their families here. 

I am lucky enough to work in the front office where I get to speak to families as they come through the doors for the first time, I also get to speak to them on the phone when they call, often feeling sad and hopeless.  It is my privilege to offer them hope through the work of our amazing counselors and to offer them help when they need it, even if that help is financial.
