Keeping banked track roller derby alive and thriving in the Pacific Northwest is very important to us and the many other women, girls, and a few good men on this league. Dues and small event fundraisers only go so far. We rely on friends, family, and fans to keep us rolling on the track hip checking those we meet along the way.
Motley Shrew started Derby at the age of five. After watching *one* Rat City bout when the infamous Anya Heels was still on skates, she was hooked and annoyed her mothers incessantly until she finally got her own skates. Despite her age, a Bird took pity on this silent skater and let her skate with the Chicklets. She was hooked.
Fast forward six years, countless hours at rinks, and some time spent on the flat track, and you have todays modern-day Shrew. Still relatively silent and small compared to her peers, she glows when her skates hit that bank. Her size disappears. She is afraid of nothing. She is home.
