I am joining forces with 20 adventurous biotech enthusiasts to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, at 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). Our mission is to make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.
While there is still a long way to go, we have recently witnessed remarkable progress in cancer care. The development of innovative therapies frequently originates from the work of early-career researchers who explore unconventional concepts. I've had the privilege of personally knowing scientists supported by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. They are bold enough to ask and find answers to the 'big questions' that might be too risky for others to tackle.
This opportunity allows me to seamlessly merge my personal passion with my professional one. As a venture capital investor, I support oncology startups with the aim of turning cutting-edge discoveries in the lab into life-saving treatments in the real world. In my personal life, I find solace in hiking, connecting with nature, and challenging myself on the trails. This journey goes beyond personal challenge; it reflects my dedication to translating scientific progress into innovative medicines.
Join me on this journey to back both the Foundation and the exceptional scientists it supports. Our shared goal is to raise $1 million, with my personal commitment to raise at least $50,000.
Thanks for your support - Stella
