As a boy, I watched my mother successfully battle breast cancer.  By today’s standards, her treatment - though well intentioned - was crude. Working in the biotech industry for over 30 years, I’ve seen cancer care improve tremendously, but I know that the advancement of new medicines often has roots in the work of young researchers bold enough to pursue “crazy” ideas. That is why I’m joining the 2024 Timmerman Traverse with 20+ colleagues climbing Kilimanjaro, with a collective fundraising goal of $1 million for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, the US’s premier supporter of early career cancer researchers pursuing innovative ideas that could make a real difference.  Please join me through your pledge, and thank you!
