Welcome to Mt. Kili Climb 2024 - Help Me Raise $50k for Cancer Research
I am climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in February 2024! This will be a physical challenge, but also a fundraising opportunity and would like to ask for your support.
I’ll be part of the Timmerman Traverse team who will raise a total of $1 million for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. I will personally be raising $50,000 to support the Foundation.
The DRCRF funds high-risk, high-reward cancer research. They identify and enable young scientists who are bold enough to go where others haven’t. Incredible scientific talent goes unfunded because they don’t fit the norm and perhaps think so far outside the box, that it makes them ineligible for existing grant funding. Every time we don’t back one of these potential rising stars, we are likely losing potential therapies, fundamental scientific discoveries, and new technologies.
Damon Runyon has set out to change that. The Foundation’s scientists have developed tools like CRISPR-Cas9, discovered the link between HPV and oral cancer, and account for 13 Nobel laureates in their roster. It truly generates outsized outcomes per dollar spent.
If you are in a position where you could donate, it could have a meaningful impact on cancer patients and the Foundation.
