I will be climbing Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world at 19, 3451 feet, in February 2026. I am doing this trek with a team of biotech execs and investors, under the leadership of Luke Timmerman. Together we will collectively raise $1mm+ to support the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.
For the past 15 years, I have been working hard to turn science into cancer medicine. On this journey, I am inspired by people I love who are so brave to fight cancer, such as my mom, the dear friends in my running group, the close colleagues from ALX Oncology and Tallac Therapeutics, and my Biotech CEO Sisters. And the memories of those loved ones that were lost to this beast of a disease? They just motive me to work harder each and every day.
However, I am also frustrated by what we can offer to cancer patients. “Find it early and cut it out” is almost the only cure right now. We need more! We need to understand more of the complex cancer biology, we need better tools, we need innovations to breakthrough the many “valleys of death”. That is why I am excited to be partnering with Luke and Timmerman Transverse team to support Damon Runyon on funding grants for high risk/high reward research led by young brilliant scientists. Particularly right now, we need to do everything we can to help the next generation scientists to stay brave and bold in their research careers.
Reflecting on my career journey from academic science to drug developer and company builder, I am grateful for many who help me along the way. I am passionate about helping the next generations STEM talents along their journey. Right now, I am offering my time for mentoring when you donate to support this great cause. Make a donation and contact me to schedule a 1:1 time.
Please join me and donate. Support me in Timmerman Transverse 2025 and help me reach my personal fundraising goal. Every bit counts in the fight against cancer! Our efforts today will save lives tomorrow!
