My journey into cancer research began more than 30 years ago as an undergraduate and has afforded me the tremendous privilege of working alongside brilliant scientists, clinicians, and advocates - people who dedicate their lives to developing new therapies and bringing hope to patients and families facing cancer.
That mission became deeply personal when my father-in-law benefited from one of these novel treatments. Though he ultimately lost his battle with cancer, his experience strengthened my resolve to do more for patients like him.
Today, as I lead a company advancing new cancer medicines, I’ve found that taking on personal challenges like this trek is a powerful way to stay grounded in purpose. Kilimanjaro is both a physical and symbolic climb - an opportunity to push myself while supporting the breakthroughs that matter most.
And that science needs our support - now more than ever. In a time when funding for research faces unprecedented strain, it is critical that we continue to invest in the foundational discoveries that power every future breakthrough in cancer care.
If you’re able, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
Every step I take is for the patients, families, and researchers who keep fighting.
Thank you.
