Did you know that one in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with childhood cancer by the time they are 20 years old? Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 19 in the U.S.
Every year, an estimated 250,000+ new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide.
Childhood cancer research is vastly and consistently underfunded. Childhood cancer research receives just 4% of the annual budge from the National Cancer Institute. That's 4 pennies for every dollar.
We are coming together for ALL children and families currently fighting, to celebrate with the survivors, for ALL children who will fight in the future, and for ALL of the sweet children who have passed away too soon. Alex’s Army held this event in April 2017 on what would have been Alex’s 13th birthday, and while we had over 1,100 people all doing push-ups simultaneously, we were JUST short of the record. Alex’s parents announced at the event, “Like children fighting cancer never give up – neither will we!” We are determined more than ever to CRUSH the record and to show families in our area who are going through so much that they are NOT alone and that they have a community who loves them!
