Team Michelle was started in 2010 after my friend, Michelle, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.  A group of her family and friends formed Team Michelle to walk in the Susan G. Komen 3 day walk to support Michelle as she was going through treatment.  Several years and walks later, my sister was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ and I followed 6 months later.  Now, 10 years after Michelle's diagnosis, the 3 of us are cancer free, but not after each of our own individual fights.

This year has been difficult for so many families and it continues to be a struggle.  However, one thing that hasn't changed...men and women are still being diagnosed with breast cancer.  Team Michelle is committed to continue the funding of our breast cancer research projects at UCI and our new partnership at KU Med,  In addition, we will continue our Act of Love grants to those going through breast cancer treatment.
