In March of this year I was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Ductal Carcinoma in my right breast. I remember my first appointment at the Doctor's after the diagnosis I was given a care bag from the Gloria Gemma foundation. One of the items in there was a heart shaped pillow that I brought to the hospital and have slept with every night since my surgery. I know it may seem like a small thing, but to me, that little pillow was comfort through a rough time. I also was in touch with Gloria Gemma's Young Survivor Navigator Mandy. We met for coffee and talked for hours, she gave me advice and suggestions based on her own experience with Breast Cancer, she checks in with me to see how I am doing and is a huge support. I know my personal experience with Gloria Gemma is small in comparison to all they offer, I was just lucky enough that I did not need anything additional, but if I had I know they would have been there for me.
