As most of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2014.  I had no symptoms and never thought I'd be given the news I did at that first mammogram.  I thought turning 40 was going to bring me to a carefree point in my life.  Rather it brought fear, uncertainty, and sadness.  Being completely overwhelmed, a couple of friends of mine told me to contact Gloria Gemma. The foundation (and Mandy Zito) helped me answer the questions I had and the decisions I was facing. I was also connected with the young survivors involved with the foundation.  Meeting these amazing women was a turning point for me and my own survivorship.  I met women full of strength and hope. I knew I could fight for as long as I had to.  Not only was this group, the events and workshops provided, and support helpful but the services provided by the foundation helped my family as well. 

This will be the third year I'll carry a torch at the Illuminations of Life ceremony.  This event is a celebration of life and survivorship.  We walk in honor of those who we've lost, and walk alongside those still fighting. We walk for ourselves. Please help me raise as much money as possible by donating today.  Let's make it possible for Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation to provide every woman, man, and family member affected by this horrible disease services and support.
