When we moved to Orlando nearly 4 years ago I didn't know many people and had little to no connections or resources. Today, my son Nicholas is privileged to: • the iCan Excel Program (hosted at UCF to help encourage and engage middle school students with DS) • Club 321 (an awesome social group made up of other young teenagers with DS and volunteers who get together once a month to find fun and exciting new things to try out) • a Talk Tools Therapy Scholarship • an IEP Scholarship • Yearly Camping Jamboree • Yearly Winter Wonderland Dance Party • a Community Scholarship for just about anything engaging • Dance Classes • And so much more! Not to mention the multitude of courses, guest speakers, and educational events that the Foundation host and offer for FREE to all of their families. Beyond being the best resource for my son and our family, The Foundation is so much more. They’re friends who truly care about not only us but everyone in the community. When my Dad had a stroke and our world was turned upside down, they were there providing support and help however they could. They go out of the way to be there for any one and everyone all while taking care of their own child/adult with Down Syndrome. When I say we are truly blessed to be a part of this organization, I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
