Asking for $5 . . . from 200 of you!
For several years I've "ridden my age" in miles on the weekend of my birthday. This will be 3 weeks after, but the mileage for the 100K comes out just about right.
You know I love bicycling, and I love this great charity bicycling event, Tour de Fuzz. They raise money for two essential police chaplaincy programs. Both locally and nationwide,
Having had the honor of working with public safety professionals in my profession and in community service, I've long felt protective and very supportive of them -- personally -- even as I'm awed by their skills, bravery and compassion. Quite a coincidence that now I find myself with a son in law enforcement! Supporting the Chaplaincy program is one way that you and I can support them in keeping our communities safe and whole.
Sonoma County's Law Enforcement Chaplaincy responds with the police directly, at no cost, to scenes of tragedy and loss, any time of the day or night. Their all-volunteer, compassion-centric "Sonoma Model" is unique, and The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Foundation is out to spread it nationwide.
Are YOU one of the 200 people I count on to send in just $5 in support of my epic ride? Of course you are! THANK YOU!
