Dear Friends,

The annual Livable Streets Tour de Streets fundraising ride is this coming Saturday, September 21st.

The event was created 19 years ago to honor Bob Zeeb, a  deeply valued FUUSN member and avid cyclist who died while bicycling due to an unsafe street. 

I have done the fundraising bike ride every year since its inception, along with the Zeeb family, and I ask you to support me this year, whether again or for the first time. Livable Streets has spearheaded remarkable progress in making streets safer for everyone.  

I include this message from Jeff Rosenblum who co-founded LivableStreets 20 years ago: Back then...

• only a meager 1/4 mile of bike lane existed in Boston
• national design guides prohibited building European-style separated bike lanes
• pedestrian fatalities weren't even tracked
• the idea of bus only lanes was laughed at
• transit advocates had little voice in the process and street design public meetings were held only after all the important design decisions were made. 

So much has happened since then!

Please help me continue the work of Livable Streets. It makes a real difference in our lives.
