On March 25 at Blue Haven South, Tat's Tots will be competing as a Trivia team to support Read Ahead, a New York City nonprofit dedicated to helping kids develop literacy and social-emotional skills they need to thrive.
In NYC public schools around 50% of students are struggling with one of the most foundational skills for success: reading.
This is where Read Ahead comes in. We know that with the right support, every student can become a joyful, confident, and fluent reader. Read Ahead intervenes early, providing weekly sessions designed to help 1st - 5th graders develop literacy skills, a love of reading, confidence, and more. And we know Read Ahead works. Last year, 95% of parents and teachers said that their student(s) benefited from being in Read Ahead. We read over 2000 books in our program last year!
We're excited to come together to participate in the Read Ahead Junior Board's spring fundraiser, our trivia tournament! Our collective passion for this cause drives us, and we need your support to make a difference! - $50 = a virtual library full of thousands of titles for two students
- $125 = background checks and training for 10 new dedicated volunteers
- $250 = 15 sets of headsets for students
- $500 = a special, in-person Read Ahead session
- $750 = one semester of Read Ahead for one student
- $1500 = a full year of Read Ahead for one student
