In 2004, our lives changed forever when our son, Lucas, was diagnosed with Hemophilia B. In an instant, words like factor IX, infusions, and joint bleeds became part of our everyday vocabulary.
For over two decades, our family has navigated the triumphs and challenges of living with a rare bleeding disorder. Through late-night ER visits, home infusions, and the constant vigilance required to keep Lucas safe and healthy, we learned early on that we couldn't do this alone. We needed a community—and the bleeding disorders community wrapped their arms around us.
That support inspired a lifelong commitment to advocacy. From local support groups to board leadership with FAMOHIO and ongoing work with the Tri-State Bleeding Disorder Foundation (TSBDF), our mission has always been simple: educate, advocate, and ensure no family walks this path alone—especially women, girls, and young men living with the daily reality of bleeding disorders.
Why We Walk with LukeSKYWALKERS We may be launching our registration late this year, but our dedication hasn't lagged for a second! We walk to raise crucial funds for research, local educational programs, emergency financial aid for families in crisis, and youth advocacy camps.
Every dollar raised directly supports families right here in the Tri-State area through TSBDF.
