I joined Team Superstars in 2015 on a whim. Thanks to Twitter. No seriously. I had been wanting to run a marathon for a while. Then a tweet showed up in my timeline, looking for charity runners for Children's Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota. I don't have kids but I like other peoples' kids so I thought... I can run, I should do this! And I signed on immediately.

Again, I don't have kids. But when I heard the stories of families that had spent time at Children's, I knew I was in for the long haul. No parent should ever wonder if their child will be given care. No parent should ever have to worry about being able to afford that care. What Children's does for families is amazing -- it's hope, comfort, stability -- during a time when they need it most.

I'm so lucky to be involved with Team Superstars and I consider it an honor to wear their running tank every October. This year, it's 10 miles. But those 10 miles will help a family that needs it. And that makes all these difficult training runs completely worth it.
