Hello Friends and Family:

This coming October, I’m going to be running for the first time the Twin Cities Marathon and am supporting the effort to raise money on behalf of Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

For those of you unfamiliar with Children's, it is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the country and the only system in Minnesota to provide care just to kids. Last year, Children’s treated more than 130,000 kids in the five-state region. As a nonprofit organization, Children’s relies on philanthropy to support many of its services and research.  And it relies on community generosity to ensure no child is turned away, regardless of ability to pay, which is becoming more and more critical in these shifting times.

I ultimately decided to run to support Children's based on my wife Kim's work with MCRC, a critical area within Children's that  provides specialized care for the abused child and their families.  Via my wife Kim's involvement, I have been fortunate to meet the incredible team and see first hand their commitment and passion towards helping abused children through crisis. My goal is to help ensure this group continues to have the necessary resources and funding to continue to support this unfortunate but important need in the Minneapolis/St. Paul community. 

Any support you can share, including words of encouragement, is appreciated.  But if you are interested in donating, I'm also looking for help in buliding a rock star running playlist for the event.  But I need your help!  For $10/song, you can include the selection of your choice on the PLAYLIST I'll use at the event (and probably well in advance on those long runs beforehand). This is all it takes to ensure you are in my ear for 3-4 minutes during the event, and will be a huge help as I whittle away the hours on the road. I'll plan to publish the full playlist once final. And most importantly, thanks so much for your support.
