Why am I walking?

I am excited to participate in Take the Challenge because I want to spread hope and raise funds to help individuals and families living with disabilities.

Easterseals provides life-changing services that help people of all ages live better lives. They provide job training for adults, and support for families taking care of loved ones with disabilities. And, they assist older adults in learning skills to help them live as independently as possible as they grow older.

But the demand for their services is increasing, as more children and adults and their families need Easterseals help every day.

Why I need your support

I'm committed to making a positive difference and I know how important Easterseals is to our entire community. But I can't do it alone.

Some of you may know that I am a member of the Local Advisory Board for Easterseals Florida. Easterseals is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in our community living with disabilities. When I was 18, after high school graduation, I worked at Easterseals to gain experience working with children with disabilities prior to beginning my Bachelors of Education Degree as an Elementary Education Major. My passion for teaching came from my Mother, a Special Education Teacher's Aide and she encouraged me to get real-world experience by working at Easterseals that Summer.  Thirty years down the line, the Universe brought me back to Easterseals Florida as a volunteer and local advisory board member.
