My Personal Fundraising Page
As many of you know, my high school sweetheart and husband, Don Black has Parkinson's Disease. He was diagnosed in 2005, and we've been living with it for over 18 years. There have been a lot of challenges, lifestyle changes, surgeries, medical devices, physical therapy, speech therapy, and more over the years. He is actually doing pretty well thanks to a good neurologist and Deep Brain Stimulation surgery.
I work with the Oklahoma Parkinson's Alliance, formerly the Parkinson Foundation of OK, helping other families with support through exercise classes, therapy, education, and support groups. We attempt to improve quality of life for others going through the same issues we have had to deal with. We lead a young onset ( diagnosed prior to age 50) support group every month, and really support the good work of this group. Our major fundraiser for each year is a Walk, which will be held June 3rd in downtown Tulsa. If you would like to help out Team Black this year, please go to www.oklahomapa.org and donate today. No amount is too small to help OPA continue it's great work. Thank you and may God Bless You!
