Helping Chicago Moms

In light of the recent formula shortage plaguing the nation, I searched for ways to help new moms like me, who may be struggling with finding food for their children. It seems so simple of a thing to ask, to be able to feed your baby, but many people right now are struggling to do just that. Among those affected by this formula shortage are the infants and mothers of a Chicagoland organization called New Moms.

New Moms provides transitional and permanent housing for moms under 25-years-old and their children; offers job training program to equip moms with skills to succeed in the workforce; offers prenatal care, doula services, and reproductive health education for pregnant moms; and provides many other confidence-building services to young families.

They are in urgent need of the following NEW, UNOPENED supplies:

  • Baby formula, preferrably Enfamil
  • Diapers, especially sizes 4, 5, and 6
  • Baby wipes
  • Baby care accessories/toiletries
  • Full-size toiletries
  • Household Products
  • Board Books (think cardboard or wooden pages, not paper)

If you feel moved to donate, please join me in my fundraiser which ends on Tuesday 5/24 and contribute what you wish!
