Introducing The Team Winni Bingo!

How It Works:

The JDC West University of Winnipeg Team is excited to partner with The Dream Factory on their Beyond Dreams Bingo Initiative. This activity includes five teams competing against each other to raise funds and hours for our Charity requirements in the JDC West competition. Each group will consist of 5 people working together to reach money and hours. Each team will have a captain in charge of motivating and keeping track of the team's progress. Please register with your given team name.

The first team to complete a bingo will win the first place prize, and if a team totally fills their bingo card, they will win a Grand Prize. We hope that collectively as the UWinnipeg JDC West Team, we will raise and surpass our goal of $5000 dollars for the Dream Factory and help make more dreams come true.

UWinnipeg JDCWest in support of The Dream Factory:

Every year, the JDCWest competition sees business students from universities across Canada compete in academics, athletics, debate, and to make a difference in the community by raising funds and volunteering their time.

The 2021-2022 UWinnipeg JDCWest team is pleased to have selected The Dream Factory as one of our charities of choice. Our wonderful team of 50 students will spend the months of June-December making a difference for kids in Manitoba battling life-threatening illnesses.

More specifically, our team is working hard to support The Dream Factory's Beyond Dreams Program. The funds we are able to raise as a team will directly support families here in our community, and we can't do it without you!

It is a true privilege to be able to make a small difference for children in our community fighting incredibly difficult battles - but we can't do it alone. It will take an entire team effort and the support of our community to reach our goal and ensure that these kids have opportunities to laugh and smile despite how difficult things may be.

To our teammates, we hope that you will join us in this effort - we can only do it if we work together. To our friends and partners in the community, any additional support you might be able to provide would truly be so appreciated and go a very long way in making this shared dream come true.

What is the Beyond Dreams Program?

JDCWest Banner-3.png

At The Dream Factory our mission is to make dreams come true — and a big part of that is ensuring that our families feel supported before and after their Dream experience.

The Beyond Dreams program is our way of reminding Dream Families that they are an important part of our community, always. It doesn’t matter if their dream was years ago or still to come — they are what The Dream Factory is all about!

Beyond Dreams embodies all of the special moments, experiences, and gifts that we work hard to create outside of the child’s “Big Dream”. It includes everything from renting out a local theatre for a movie night, hosting a princess party to celebrate a big birthday or treatment milestone, or sending our kids behind the scenes at fun community events like Monster Jam.

We do our best to regularly create magical experiences right here at home. It’s in these gestures, however small, that we are able to remind our families that there is a whole community of support behind them during a difficult time in their lives.

In response to COVID-19, we adapted our Beyond Dreams program to create more magic for our Dream Kids while they were safe at home. First, we hosted more than 25 Virtual Parties over the course of 2020 - with guests including iconic princesses and superheroes, local musicans and magicians, a marine biologist, and a Winnipeg Jet, just to name a few. We had more than 100 families participate virtually in these events, with some really wonderful feedback and a whole lot of fun.

We’ve recently expanded the Beyond Dreams program to make the experience for our Dream Kids even better and provide some extra support along the way. These additions included improved welcome packages and birthday and holiday gifts; support for families including grocery gift cards and family dinners; and Dream Parties to mark upcoming Dreams come true.

These activities, events, and special gifts are a welcome break for kids and families going through some of their most difficult days. Your support today will make more of these possible in 2021 and ensure that all Dream Kids have an opportunity to smile, laugh, and remember what it feels like to just be a kid - despite the difficult battle they may be fighting. It's an incredible gift to give, and we are so grateful for your support!

About The Dream Factory

DRE-Logo-4c-ONwhite.jpg

At The Dream Factory, our mission is to bring dreams to life for Manitoba kids who are battling life-threatening illnesses.

Our ultimate goal is to create as many opportunities as possible for kids to just be kids, despite the incredibly difficult battles they may be fighting.

Our Dream Kids are under the age of 18, have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, and are able to communicate their dream in some form. We include all immediate family members in the dream experience, and every dream starts with a referral from a member of our community.

Examples of dreams come true safely here at home over the last 12 months have included a LEGO-themed 7th birthday party for Ben, the “best Christmas ever” for Mia, an incredible backyard transformation for Emma, and even a new family puppy for Luke.

Our dream is for a world where there are no sick kids, but until that is possible, we work to ensure that every sick child in Manitoba has the opportunity to have their dream come true.

Your support will directly help to ensure that even more dreams can come true for kids right here in our community fighting some incredibly difficult battles. We can't do it without you!
