Can you believe that nearly half of my life has been consumed with breast cancer?! It all started in September of 2001 when my mom called me to tell me she had breast cancer. I held her hand, I sent her flowers, I went to her big surgery. Still, the breast cancer came back 3 years later. Thankfully, it has not been back since. My own journey started in 2013 at the age of 37. It was always in the back of my mind that it could happen to me. I just never thought I would be in my 30's. Now it was my mom's turn to hold my hand, visit me, and take care of me during surgery. Some things didn't change, but it was amazing the differences and options just in the years between our diagnoses. I am grateful to live in a world of options. Now, I have met others with breast cancer that need MORE OPTIONS, MORE TIME WITH FAMILY!

About the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer

Raising funds for research to find a cure and to improve the lives of the many affected by breast cancer.
Their Story:
Vera Bradley Co-founders Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller began raising funds for breast cancer research in 1993 after the loss of their dear friend, Mary Sloan. Since then, their genuine commitment to this cause has evolved into the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Together with our donors, fundraisers, event participants and volunteers, we hope for a future free from breast cancer.
