Well, I've done it again.

I signed up to run a marathon with a charity. This time I am running the 2027 London Marathon with a bunch of crazy friends. Our team has supported various cancer research organizations in the past. This time we have signed up to run for Team Fired Up from the Dragon Master Initiative.

DMI's mission statement is "To find and accelerate cures for cancers and other rare diseases by fostering and rewarding a community of collaboration and innovation." They support multiple avenues of cancer research. DMI supports cavatica.org which is a storage, sharing, and analysis platform designed to handle large volumes of pediatric tumor genomics data. DMI has partnered with  Amazon Web Services and the Children's Brain Tumor Network on the D.A.V.I.D. AI tool to improve research data accessibility and usage.

Most of you know my own cancer journey. My desire to raise funds for cancer research started well before my own diagnosis. I sign on for these as a way to honor a dear friend and his daughter. They both lost their own battles with cancer long before I knew it was coming for me. The smallest thing I can think to do is to help raise funds to try to find an end to this disease that affects so many people and families.
