I am participating in the 26th Annual Run for the Health of It to benefit Hospice House. More than 30 years ago, I became a Hospice Nurse at Visting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk. I care for patients in their homes and coordinate closely with our hospice team on the patient’s individual care plan. When symptoms can no longer be managed at home, Hospice House is the greatest gift that we can provide to patients and their loved ones.
The time I spend with hospice patients and their families is so meaningful to me. I am grateful that I could be there for them. Some say working with death and dying is a calling. For me, providing hospice care at VNS & Hospice of Suffolk is truly an honor.
