In 2006 I was brought by a family member to a chicken farm to pick up eggs for their catering business. While I had always considered myself an animal lover, the heartbreaking state these chickens were kept in made me realize that couldn't be true if I stood by ate these tiny souls. I became a vegetarian.
Unfortunately, it took another ten years before I would, again, realize that while I considered myself an animal lover I was still subjecting so many animals to a life of creulty and dealth by consuming their byproducts.
Through my volunteer work with animals I learned of Animal Justice. It is because of their podcast, Paw & Order that I started to truly understand that I was supporting an industry that treats animals as if they are nothing more than a bottom line.
I've never been happier than when I made the commitment to a vegan life four months ago. My soul feels clean knowing I'm not supporting a creul industry. I'm happy to be #voiceless4animaljustice for how they inspired my journey to veganism and a creulty-free life.
