My Personal Fundraising Page

Hello everyone!

This Saturday, November 9, I will be taking part in Voiceless for Animal Justice, along with some of the other members of the U of A Faculty of Law’s Animal Justice Club. I will be taking a 24 hour vow of silence to raise funds for the organization Animal Justice. Animal Justice is Canada’s only national animal law organization, and their lawyers work to pass strong new animal protection legislation, push for the prosecution of animal abusers, and fight for animals in court.

Canada has very poor animal protection laws, and there is currently no national animal protection legislation. In Canada, it is still legal to kill and eat your pet, and to import and sell cat fur, dog fur, and elephant ivory.

In the past year, Animal Justice helped get three groundbreaking new laws passed for animals in Parliament—banning the captivity of whales and dolphins, outlawing shark fin imports, and closing loopholes regarding animal abuse and animal fighting.
