#Voiceless4AnimalJustice is an annual community fundraiser to raise money for Animal Justice, Canada's only national animal law advocacy organization working to protect animals from cruelty and neglects. Animal Justice does vital work, like fighting for the creation of animal protection laws in Canada or fighting unconstituional laws like Bill 156 in Ontario. The fundraiser will end with myself and other participants taking a 24-hour vow of silence to raise awareness about the animals who have no voice in our legal and political sytems.
I am participating in #Voiceless4AnimalJustice to draw attention to Canada's abysmal and often non-existent laws for animal rights and protection, while fundraising for a great organization. I truly believe in the work done by animal Justice and want to do my part in supporting them.
Like many of the other participants in this event, I am very passionate about non-human animals and I do my best to advocate for them in all areas of my life. I am vegan, the current President of VegOttawa Association, and a foster parent with the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue.
As many people who know me would confirm, I am also a very chatty person. I live for small talk, as strange as that might seem! Being silent for a full day will probably be quite challenging for me. But any inconvenience or discomfort that I experience won't even come remotely close to comparing to the suffering that animals experience here in Canada every single day.
I am asking you to support me in this fundraising campaign to raise money for Animal Justice and the critical work they are doing for animals throughout this country. They work to ensure that all animals have a voice in court, no matter what.
