My Personal Fundraising Page

On November 5th, for 24 hours I will be silent. 

My personal journey over the last five years has resulted in me becoming a (rather mouthy) advocate for animal welfare and it has been a long time in the making. 

I grew up in the country with horses, a goat, chickens, dogs, cats, fish, you name it, we probably had it. My mom spent her youth bringing animals- sick, injured and in need, home and this has no doubt been passed down to me.  

My understanding of animal welfare and the need for advocacy has skyrocketed as I worked through my vegan journey, first for the animals and then becoming aware of the environmental and health impacts as well. Chances are, you don't know where your food comes from and how it came to be and this needs to stop. Chances are you believe that we have proper protections in place, but Canada is one of the worst in the western world. I could rage against factory farming for days, I could rage against the injustice and the violence. But for this day, I'm hoping my silence will bring awareness, bring light to industries that are inflicting horrendous pain and help those that are fighting the good fight. I believe in a better and kinder world, for all of us.
