I am Lori and I am a vegan animal rights activist. I went vegetarian as a child after making the connection between my food and my friends - the animals. I later became vegan around 10 years ago after learning more about the egg and dairy industries. I am an organizer with The Animal Save Movement and Anonymous for the Voiceless and the Founder and Organization Chair of Burlington Ontario VegFest, we had our first annual event this past summer and it was spectacular! 

I spend every spare moment I have advocating for the animals that have been silenced by people who profit from their suffering. I believe most people don’t want to hurt animals even though they are doing just that by not being vegan, that is why activism is so important. I do this fundraiser every year and my teenager loves the fact that I am silent for 24 hours!

On November 5th I will not be staying home because I am silent, I will be making a sign about why I am silent and giving out cards to people explaining why I am voiceless on this day.
