I am so grateful to have found the Healing Garden after my breast cancer journey started in 2014. A few years later I was in surgical menopause and the emotional swings were so intense, I realized I needed some therapy. The immediate feeling of understanding, comfort and support I felt upon joining the post treatment support group was incredible and the friendships formed, with people I might never have met otherwise have been so vital to my life. When my Dad was here to visit in 2017, we stopped by the Garden and he was instantly charmed by the staff, the garden and the peace of mind he had knowing that I was getting the support that I needed. It turned out to be be even more important to me a few years later when Dad passed from glioblastoma in England in 2020 and after having lost Mum in 1994 to breast cancer, I was a cancer orphan and Survivor, all in one. The Mission of the Healing Garden to provide all kinds of support for everyone dealing with cancer for low or no cost is my new mission on life and I am thrilled to be joining the Perennial 5K!
