Help us raise funds for Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and support Richard and his Oconomowoc, Wisconsin home. Richard has been blessed to live in a home in Wisconsin for over 30 years that gives him the special care and love that he needs to live an amazing life with specialized care for people with PWS.
Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic multisystem disorder characterized during infancy but often not diagnosed until later in life. In childhood, features of this disorder include short stature and an excessive appetite. Affected individuals do not feel satisfied after completing a meal (satiety) and without intervention, overeating can lead to the onset of life-threatening obesity. The food compulsion requires constant supervision. All individuals with PWS have some cognitive impairment that ranges from low normal intelligence with learning disabilities to mild to moderate intellectual disability. Behavioral problems are common.
As a rare disorder, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please support Richard at Roosevelt Park in Oconomowoc, WI on Saturday, May 11th, for our annual PWS May Awareness event: A Walk in the Park.
