Sophias Story
In October 2016, my daughter Sophia was diagnosed with epilepsy that got progressively worse over the next year.
Sophia tried every medicine under the sun, but nothing prevented her seizures. Over the period of a year she underwent numerous treatments, studies and brain stimulating but nothing was able to stop or control her seizures and things turned for the worst.
On September 13, 2017, we were left no other options and she had her first brain surgery to map out her brain and her second brain surgery on September 20 which threatened her motor functions and language functions. They wound up removing 4 parts of her brain and she continued to have seizures up until October 3, 2017.
It has been a long journey of ups and downs but we are so grateful that we can cherish and appreciate her good health and positive spirits!
October 3rd, 2020 will be 3 Years to the day in remission!!! Wahoo!!! ??
Volunteering is more than just dedicating your time and raising money for a great cause. It’s about having a personal connection to something you truly believe in. This cause is very near and dear to our hearts and will forever be part of our lives!!
