Why we Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure

Join us as we Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure on October 20! Always Our Sunshine walks in memory of our inspiration, Kathy Schmidt. Kathy was born, raised, and lived her entire life on the west side of Cincinnati. Kathy was a wife, mother, sister, friend, confidant to so many, and smiling face to everyone she encountered. Whether it was taking an elderly neighbor to the grocery store or giving a hug to one of the many kids she worked with who was having a tough time in school because they were having a tough time at home, Kathy lived her life for other people. She worked as an instructor's aid in the Cincinnati Public Schools, and volunteered at St. Martin of Tours school and church for years. Kathy was a ray of sunshine for all the students, co-workers, and fellow parishoners she was involved with because of her upbeat, warm, welcoming personality. Kathy was diagnosed in 2002 with Medulloblastoma and succumbed just under a year later. We celebrate Kathy's influence on all our lives and walk in her honor to raise funds so that other families may be able to keep their Kathy a little longer.
